What does a day as a Skilled Maintenance Technician look like? - Responding promptly to guest maintenance requests with professionalism and urgency.
- Performing preventative maintenance throughout the hotel to keep equipment and facilities operating smoothly.
- Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, minor electrical issues, HVAC systems, lighting, appliances, doors, locks, and other building systems.
- Completing painting, drywall, carpentry, and general maintenance projects.
- Conducting routine inspections to identify and resolve potential issues before they become major repairs.
- Maintaining the appearance, cleanliness and safety of guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior grounds.
- Collaboration with Housekeeping and Front Desk teams to ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable stay.
- Following established safety procedures and accurately documenting completed work orders.
Qualifications - Previous hotel maintenance experience is preferred; skilled trades experience is welcome.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Knowledge of general hand tools and maintenance equipment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to lift up to fifty pounds, with frequent lifting and bending required.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to shift between tasks frequently based on guest and hotel needs.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Ability to use a computer for timekeeping, OSHA training, and other job-related tasks.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays. Most shifts are during the day.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required.
