Skilled Industrial Painter

We are currently hiring a skilled Industrial Painter for a local steel mill in Youngstown, OH. We’re seeking motivated candidates who take pride in their work and safety.

This role involves surface preparation, welding and fitting repairs, and priming and painting steel using HVLP spray equipment. You will work on-site at a busy steel manufacturing facility, following safety and PPE standards. Hours:
3rd Shift: 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Pay:
$17.00 – $24.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • File, grind, sand, and smooth filled or repaired surfaces using power and hand tools
  • Inspect repaired surfaces for proper finish, alignment, and quality of paint job
  • Fit and weld replacement parts, grind welds to smoothness using power grinders and tools
  • Prime and paint surfaces with HVLP spray guns and motorized sanders
  • Follow supervisor instructions on parts to restore or replace and estimated job times
  • Observe all safety rules and keep work area clean and organized

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to follow supervisor instructions
  • Knowledge of machinery, tools, and their maintenance
  • Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control
  • Ability to visualize how parts will look after movement or rearrangement
  • Ability to organize actions according to specific rules or patterns

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Welding experience
  • Heavy industrial painting experience
  • Steel surface prep and priming skills

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Relevant industrial painting or welding experience

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Respond quickly to sounds and respond to potentially dangerous situations on-site
