Skilled Machine Operator

George Schmitt & Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Operator to join our RFID manufacturing team at our Branford, CT facility. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in die cutting and insertion operations, a working knowledge of RFID technology, and the technical aptitude to operate precision equipment in a fast-paced production environment. This is an evening shift position offering competitive pay and the opportunity to contribute to a specialized, growing segment of our business.

• Operate the Gonderflex die cutting machine as the primary daily function, ensuring accurate cuts, consistent output quality, and minimal downtime
• Set up, run, and monitor production jobs according to work orders and quality specifications
• Perform insertion operations, including loading and feeding materials with precision
• Conduct routine machine inspections, adjustments, and minor maintenance to maintain equipment performance
• Monitor RFID encoding and label output for quality, identifying and escalating defects as needed
• Record production data, downtime, and material usage accurately in required logs and systems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility standards
• Coordinate with the production team and supervisor to meet daily throughput targets
• Support cross-training on additional equipment as needed
