We’re looking for an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator to join an established Albany fabrication shop. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who knows structural steel, takes pride in precise fit-up, and wants steady work with a great daytime schedule.

You’ll work on real fabrication projects from layout through final assembly — not repetitive production work. If you know your way around blueprints, structural steel, layout, and MIG welding, bring those skills somewhere they’ll be put to work.
What You’ll Do

• Lay out, fit, and fabricate structural steel components and assemblies from start to finish.
• Read and work from blueprints, weld symbols, and detailed fabrication drawings.
• Measure, mark, cut, and fit material with precision.
• Set up steel components for accurate fit-up and welding.
• Operate grinders, cutting tools, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment.
• Move and position heavy steel safely and efficiently.
• Work closely with welders and other fabricators to keep projects moving.
• Perform structural MIG welding as needed.
• Inspect your work to make sure finished assemblies meet specifications and quality standards.

What You’ll Have

• Previous structural steel fabrication experience.
• MIG welding and fit-up experience.
• Strong blueprint and weld-symbol reading skills.
• Confidence with layout, measurements, fractions, and fabrication math.
• Knowledge of structural steel terminology and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to work accurately without needing constant supervision.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and stay active throughout the shift.
• Ability to demonstrate your structural layout and fabrication skills during the interview process.
