Position Description
  • Hands-on experience creating real 3D models using Tekla Structures software
  • Exposure to how structural steel projects move from design to fabrication
  • Work alongside experienced detailers, engineers, and project teams
  • Opportunities to collaborate, ask questions, and learn in a real corporate environment
  • Gain an understanding of industry standards, drawings, and steel terminology
  • See how your work impacts actual projects being built
  • Program is offered exclusively in Topeka, Kansas
Position Requirements

Engineering Students
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering
  • Completed coursework in Computer Graphics or Engineering Graphics
  • Strong interest in structural design, construction, or steel fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings or willingness to learn
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Drafting Students
  • Currently enrolled in a drafting or design technology program
  • Must have completed at least half of the program
  • Familiarity with CAD or similar drafting software preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new software (Tekla)
  • Interest in structural steel, construction, or design
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take direction
