Skills Trainer II:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology with LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW license or license eligibility OR

At least 2 years of direct experience in a mental health/social service setting
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Position Specific
Provides services to assigned children, youth, and families in the home, office, school, or other community based settings.
Possesses specific cultural competence to work with and outreach to culturally diverse populations and communities
Provides services to children and youth involved in the identified systems meeting all County requirements as listed in program scope
Provides Intensive Home Based Services (IHBS) and/or individual rehabilitation to youth as identified in youth’s treatment plan
Provides collateral support to caregivers and significant support persons as identified in youth’s treatment plan
Develops and facilitates rehabilitative and/or skill building groups
Completes Functional Assessments and Crisis Plans prior to providing rehabilitation or IHBS as assigned
Model and coach positive, constructive attitudes and behaviors in managing difficult situations in school, work, and living situations
Completes Intake, Core Assessment, Mid Assessment and Discharge packets as assigned.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with agency and community partners
Develops and prepares updates to individualized safety plans in coordination with youth’s child family team, maximizing the use of natural supports and community based resources
Provides other Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) and/or case management functions as necessary, securing formal resources, and keeping team members informed of progress and challenges presented.
Participates in Child Family Team (CFT), multi-disciplinary team, hospital, crisis, psychiatric, court, school, and provider meetings as scheduled
Provides and documents all Medi-Cal eligible billable and non-billable services, including but not limited to assessment, plan development, group session, collateral, rehabilitation, In Home Based Services (IHBS) case management, Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) and crisis intervention within required timelines
Attends all staff meetings, consumer meetings, and consultation meetings as scheduled
Participates in the on-call rotation
Able to provide or arrange for safe transportation for youth and families to services as needed
Participates in utilization, accreditation, peer review process as assigned
Works collaboratively with all internal programs, departments, and staff to provide support as needed
Maintains positive relationships with consumers and customers
Responsible for meeting all outcomes as documented in Employee Development Plan
Coordinates with program staff to ensure documentation reflects standards that meet or surpass applicable Agency, County, State and Federal standards
Agency Specific
Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency’s policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements.
Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values
Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed
Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers
Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills
Perform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned

Compensation This position may be filled at any level listed in this posting. Level determination is based on the role’s minimum qualifications and the candidate’s directly relevant experience and scope of responsibility.
The posted salary bands represent the full pay range for each role and reflect opportunities for compensation growth over time. The typical hiring ranges reflect where we reasonably expect to make offers to new hires based on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
Level I • Typical hiring range: $28.00 – $33.00 per hour • Full salary band: $28.00 – $40.00 per hour
Level II • Typical hiring range: $70,720 – $82,000 per year • Full salary band: $70,720 – $90,000 per year
