OverviewThe SLED Systems Engineer (SE) is a key member of the sales organization, responsible for driving technical strategy and execution across the sales lifecycle. This role partners closely with Account Executives, partners, and customers to design, demonstrate, and position Extreme Networks solutions that address complex business and technical requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Account Executives to develop and execute account strategies and technical sales plansDesign and architect secure, scalable networking solutions aligned to customer business requirementsDeliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts (POCs)Provide consultative guidance across networking domains including wired, wireless, security, and cloud‑managed solutionsSupport evaluations, solution validation, and competitive differentiation during the sales cycleDevelop technical proposals, RFP responses, and solution documentationAct as a trusted technical advisor to customers, partners, and internal stakeholdersDeliver customer and partner enablement through training, workshops, and technical briefingsCollaborate with product management and engineering to provide field feedback and influence directionSupport post‑sales escalations as needed to ensure customer successQualifications7–10+ years of experience in systems engineering, pre‑sales engineering, or related technical rolesStrong expertise in networking technologies including switching, routing, wireless, and securityProven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and architecturesExperience delivering customer‑facing presentations, demos, and technical workshopsStrong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in complex network environmentsAbility to manage multiple priorities and complex customer engagementsExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsSelf‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred ExperienceExperience with cloud‑managed networking platformsBackground in high‑density wireless design and optimizationExposure to automation, scripting, or API‑driven networkingIndustry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CWNP, or equivalent)Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experienceSuccess ProfileCustomer‑first, consultative approach to sellingStrong ability to influence both technical and business stakeholdersOwnership mindset with a focus on achieving technical winsCollaborative team player aligned to sales and technical organizationsContinuous learner who adapts to evolving technologiesTravelTravel required for customer engagements, workshops, and POCs - up to 50%.CompensationThis role has a market‑competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range of 170,000 to 190,000 USD. The posted range reflects the amount Extreme Networks reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role upon hire. This range is set using objective, gender‑neutral criteria based on skills, experience, responsibility, and working conditions. Actual compensation offered will depend on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and work location.
