Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT)

Location: Phoenixville Sleep Center, Phoenixville, PA 19460
Job Type: Temporary (Potential for Permanent Hire)
Schedule: Monday & Tuesday | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position Summary

The Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) performs comprehensive sleep testing, patient assessment, therapeutic interventions, and data analysis under the supervision of the Lead Sleep Technologist, Clinical Lab Manager, or Medical Director. The technologist is responsible for conducting diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies while ensuring patient safety and compliance with established sleep laboratory protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and verify physician sleep study orders.
  • Prepare patients and provide age-appropriate education regarding sleep testing procedures.
  • Select, prepare, calibrate, and troubleshoot sleep testing equipment.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to established industry standards.
  • Perform positive airway pressure (CPAP/BiPAP) mask fitting and desensitization.
  • Monitor patients during sleep studies and implement therapeutic interventions as needed.
  • Administer supplemental oxygen and positive airway pressure therapy when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with both in-lab and out-of-center sleep testing protocols.
  • Analyze sleep study data and prepare reports for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within EMR and sleep study software systems.
  • Follow all sleep center policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 Month  of experience in a clinical sleep laboratory setting.
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential required.
  • Credentialing through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).
  • Strong knowledge of polysomnography procedures, sleep testing protocols, CPAP/BiPAP therapy, and patient monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Arts or Science preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred.

Additional Information

  • Temporary assignment with potential for permanent placement.
  • Rate is fixed and cannot be increased at this time.
  • Candidates with Epic EMR experience should be highlighted on submission.
  • Right to Represent (RTR) must be included in the submission packet.
  • Requested Time Off (RTO) must be listed on the submission cover form.
  • Compliance requirements are due by the Wednesday prior to the start date.
  • Medicals and drug screenings must be initiated within 72 hours of award acceptance.
  • Candidate profile information in B4Health must be complete and accurate.
  • COA documentation must be uploaded within 48 hours of award acceptance.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Active RPSGT credential.
  • Experience performing overnight polysomnography studies.
  • Skilled in CPAP/BiPAP titration and sleep disorder testing.
  • Familiarity with sleep data analysis software and EMR systems.
  • Strong communication, patient education, and critical-thinking skills.
