We are searching for a Sleep Technology Specialist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will performs sleep studies and documents results according to facility policy and procedures. The Sleep Technology Specialist is primarily responsible for scoring, reporting and conducting sleep studies as well as conducting extended patient education sessions, acting as a preceptor for new staff and conducting research.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides quality patient-centered care, scoring and reporting of sleep services. Night Shift Responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates a mastery of technical and procedural requirements to consistently produce high quality neurodiagnostic sleep studies; can adapt all procedures to clinical circumstances; monitors and/or eliminates causes of artifact; and consistently and properly labels recordings.
  • Functions independently and can apply basic, intermediate, and advanced waveform recognition, relevant medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, and current HIPPA practices.
  • Conducts efficient and accurate scoring, and documenting of sleep studies. Day Shift Responsibilities. Conducts efficient and accurate scoring, and reporting of sleep studies and ensures quality assurance.
  • Demonstrates a mastery of technical and procedural requirements to consistently produce high quality. Neurodiagnostic sleep studies, MSLT's and other sleep services; can adapt all procedures to clinical circumstances, monitors and/or eliminates causes of artifact; and consistently and properly labels recordings.
  • Functions independently and can apply basic, intermediate, and advanced waveform recognition, relevant medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, current HIPPA practices
  • Communicates effectively with peers and interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintains Environment of Care. Troubleshoots equipment and reports all equipment repairs as soon as the need is detected to manager, Biomedical Engineering, vendor, or other appropriate and authorized individuals.
  • Performs other essential job duties. Seeks exposure to educational opportunities to enhance professional growth and technical knowledge related to sleep related disease and neurodiagnostic practice. Demonstrates customer service skills.

Skills & Requirements

  • Required High school diploma or GED required. Preferred graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sleep program
  • Licenses and Certifications:

o BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association

o RPSGT - Reg Polysomnographic Technology by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).

o CCSH - Cert Clinical Sleep Health by the Board of Clinical Sleep Health Or

o REEGT - Reg Electroencephalogram Tech by the Board of Registered Electroencephalographic Technologists Or

o RST - Registered Sleep Technologist by the American Board of Sleep Medicine Or

o RRT CERT - Cert-Reg Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care

  • 4 years' experience in pediatric sleep medicine, including one 1-year experience in formal teaching OR as a formal TCH preceptor
