Position Summary

The Slide Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and enjoyable operation of assigned water slides and attractions. This role monitors guest flow, enforces ride safety rules, provides excellent guest service, and dispatches riders in accordance with company policies and safety procedures. Slide Attendants play a key role in creating a fun and safe experience for all guests at Island H2O Water Park.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely dispatch guests on assigned water slides and attractions following all operating procedures.
  • Monitor ride capacity, spacing, and flow to ensure safe rider intervals.
  • Clearly communicate ride rules, height requirements, and safety instructions to guests.
  • Assist guests with entering ride positions, mats, tubes, or rafts as needed.
  • Observe guests for proper posture and readiness before dispatching.
  • Maintain awareness of slide status and communicate with receiving attendants or lifeguards.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and energetic guest service at all times.
  • Manage queue lines and help maintain orderly guest traffic.
  • Enforce park policies and safety regulations in a respectful manner.
  • Report operational concerns, incidents, or equipment issues to leadership immediately.
  • Keep assigned areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and daily readiness checks of attractions.
  • Support teammates and other departments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain alert, focused, and safety-minded in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in sun, heat, and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and climb stairs repeatedly.
  • Ability to follow procedures and respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Previous amusement park, water park, hospitality, or guest service experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Frequently climb stairs and navigate attraction towers.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in wet, hot, humid, and outdoor conditions.

Work Environment

  • Outdoor water park setting with exposure to sun, water, noise, and large crowds.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak seasonal periods.
