Slitter Exit Operator

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:This position is responsible for all operating functions as listed below. Operation of the machines must be understood in total with the focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all the quality and productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. All work instructions and JSA's must be followed as outlined. You must work together as a member of your crew, communicating with each other in the normal course of the day's work. This position has no authority over other personnel.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE.2. Work with shift lead and inspector to ensure correct paper is ready at exit (if needed).3. Work with shift lead and inspector to ensure proper cores are at exit (if needed).4. Change exit plates when needed.5. Band coils.6. Keep area clean and organized following 6S guidelines.7. Cutting samples per direction of inspection.8. Fill in for entry op as needed.9. Set up exit for mults.SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Other duties as assigned2. Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:• Minimum of a High School Degree or Equivalent (GED) and a willingness to learn.PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:• Mobility in plant• While performing the duties of (this job), the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.• The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds• Visual ability with or without correction• Communication abilitiesHEALTH AND SAFETY:1. Respirators; the respirator requires you to be clean shaven in order to comply with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.f.Fire Retardant clothingg. Acid PPE5. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines7. Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations8. Maintain a clean and safe work areaWORK ENVIRONMENT:1.
