Description
We are looking for a dependable Slitter Operator to safely set up, operate, and maintain slitting equipment while producing high-quality products that meet customer specifications. This role is responsible for machine setup, material handling, quality inspections, packaging, and supporting production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate slitting equipment to produce materials that meet customer specifications and quality standards
Load and unload material using cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment
Measure, inspect, slit, edit, package, label, and stage finished products for shipment
Prepare production materials, including cores, skids, and packaging supplies
Complete production reports and inventory documentation accurately
Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized
Train and direct Utility Operators when assigned to the work cell
Follow safety procedures while identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity
Qualifications:
Manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred
Forklift/tow motor experience preferred (must be able to obtain forklift certification)
Ability to read a tape measure and interpret production specifications
Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and scales
Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and basic math skills
Ability to use hand tools and perform machine setups
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly (heavier items with assistance)
Reliable attendance and strong commitment to safety and quality
High school diploma or GED required
Plastics extrusion or slitting experience is a plus
Work Environment:
This position requires standing, walking, lifting, and working around manufacturing equipment in a production environment. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
