    Description


    We are looking for a dependable Slitter Operator to safely set up, operate, and maintain slitting equipment while producing high-quality products that meet customer specifications. This role is responsible for machine setup, material handling, quality inspections, packaging, and supporting production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    Responsibilities:
    • Set up and operate slitting equipment to produce materials that meet customer specifications and quality standards
    • Load and unload material using cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment
    • Measure, inspect, slit, edit, package, label, and stage finished products for shipment
    • Prepare production materials, including cores, skids, and packaging supplies
    • Complete production reports and inventory documentation accurately
    • Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized
    • Train and direct Utility Operators when assigned to the work cell
    • Follow safety procedures while identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity
    Qualifications:
    • Manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred
    • Forklift/tow motor experience preferred (must be able to obtain forklift certification)
    • Ability to read a tape measure and interpret production specifications
    • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and scales
    • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and basic math skills
    • Ability to use hand tools and perform machine setups
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly (heavier items with assistance)
    • Reliable attendance and strong commitment to safety and quality
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Plastics extrusion or slitting experience is a plus
    Work Environment:
    This position requires standing, walking, lifting, and working around manufacturing equipment in a production environment. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
