Slitter Operator - Piney Flats Flexible Packaging- 2nd Shift

Operator, Slitter – Piney Flats, Tennessee

We are seeking a detailed oriented, safety minded and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Operator, Slitter in the Piney Flats location.  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to; following procedures to safely meet customer expectations, complete required paperwork accurately, monitoring results and ensuring the quality of material and final products before leaving the work area. 

• Set up and operate machine that slits or cuts paper to specified dimensions.
• Position and fasten scoring or cutting blades or discs on roller.
• Turn wheels to adjust cutter knives.
• Align paper guides and adjust pressure on slitting and cutting discs.
• Proceed to cut paper to specified sizes.
• Remove defects and misprints.
• Splice ends together using splicing tape.
• Set up cores on shafts.
• Verify dimensions of cut rolls with work order using tape rule.
• Record rolls slit on production report.
• Label finished product.
• May be required to inventory either work in progress or finished materials.
• May be required to use Slitter machine as a Rewinder.
• Keep cutter blades sharpened.
• Grease and repack bearings in blades.
• Required to keep work area and machine clean adhering to SQF regulations.
• Will be responsible for entering production data into Radius operating system
• Follow all Safety Regulations.
• Complete miscellaneous projects as assigned by supervisor and/or manager.
• Supports SQF Certification.
