Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Slitter Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating slitting machinery to convert large rolls of material into smaller rolls that meet customer specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
This position is ideal for candidates with manufacturing or machine operator experience who are comfortable working in a fast paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate slitting machines to cut material to required sizes
Load, thread, and unload material using hoists and manual handling
Install and adjust knives, spacers, and shafts for precise cutting
Monitor machine performance and inspect finished products for defects
Verify measurements, labels, and job specifications
Record production data accurately using basic computer systems
Package, stack, and prepare finished rolls for shipment
Meet daily productivity, quality, and scrap targets
Communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, or downtime to supervisors
Follow all safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred
Ability to read measurements and follow production specifications
Basic computer skills for production reporting
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Forklift experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for the duration of the shift
Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
Frequent use of hands for tools, controls, and materials
Work around moving machinery, noise, and hot or humid conditions
