PURPOSE OF POSITION: ALevel I Slope Maintenance Laboreris responsible forassistingin the construction of new ski trails and the maintenance of existing trails.To protect ski trails and service roads from the effects of erosion, reduce hazards to skiers on trails and forest stands, and toreduce noxious weeds on the mountain  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Construct andmaintainski terrain

  • Install andmaintainerosioncontrol systems, including water bars,installingerosion mats, andcleaningstorm drains. Duties may require working during rainstorms.

  • Splitting and haulingfirewood

  • Cut brush, dig, and move rocks

  • Noxious weed abatement by chemical and mechanical means, including carrying a 40 lb. herbicide backpack sprayer

  • Spread grass seed and straw mulch

  • Setting up and tearing down buck & rail fencing  

  • Other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be able to lift and carry 60 lbs.

  • Must supply own sturdy work boots, work pants, gloves, rain gear, backpack, water bottles,sunglassesand sunblock.  

  • Valid driver’s license preferred  

DATES OF WORK:

  • ASAP – Mid October

PAY RATE:

  • Pay:$21.00 per hour
