    Job Description

    At McElroy, we’re looking for dedicated, hard-working individuals with a passion for following assembly procedures, problem-solving, and hands-on work to join our team as Small Mechanical Assembly Technicians. If you enjoy working on craftsman tabletop assembly builds that include up to 50 parts per workstation with a broad mix of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, we want you on our team!
     
    Job Requirements:
    • Two years of field-specific technical or vocational education preferred.
    • Ability to follow assembly procedures.
    • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies.
    • Basic computer knowledge.
    • Strong work ethic and ability to communicate well with a team.
    • Willingness to travel domestically to customer locations for on-site equipment setup, repairs, and troubleshooting.
     
    Generally, 95% of the normal work shift requires standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while performing assembly work, inspecting work, and verifying machine functionality versus assembly procedures.
    Job requires moving of material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.

This position is safety-sensitive because, in addition to the essential functions, it also involves performing one or more of the following essential tasks or duties:
    • The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous material.
    • The operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle, equipment, machinery or power tools.
    • Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage.
    • The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including, but not limited to, electric, gas, and water utilities, power generation or distribution.
    • The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component.
