Job Summary

The Assembler is responsible for building, assembling, and testing rotary positive blowers and gas pumps

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and builds a variety of 2"-7" gear diameter rotary positive blowers and gas pumps, per Engineering specifications, SOPs, and to production standards by performing various duties such as preparing parts for assembly by cleaning and filing, fitting bearings to heads and shafts, sizing and bending tubing, installing gears, mechanical seals, and setting various build clearances to design specs.
  • Performs slip-tests on all units. As required, may perform leak tests using air or inert gas to check for casting imperfections.
  • Operates and interfaces with advanced assembly tooling such as DC drivers, PLC, Easy-Arm, etc.
  • Completes written records, such as check sheets, clearance sheets, pressure tests, etc. as required.
  • Performs all necessary incidental duties of the classification, including but not limited to cleaning the units and masking them in preparation for paint.
  • Transfer, load, and unload blowers to/from paint conveyor as required. Perform in-process quality checks and accurately fills out all Production, Quality, and EHS associated documentation.
  • Safely operate all cranes equipped with a cab, pendant, or radio control. Determines proper rigging for crane lifts and assists where required by load or shape.
  • Operate gas and battery-powered equipment, or handcarts to transport or position materials, parts, supplies, units, etc. within shop 2. Charges batteries and exchanges propane tanks to maintain equipment usability.
  • Accurately report labor transactions, and material counts manually or electronically.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area by performing such duties as returning tooling, parts, and equipment to proper storage, wiping off the machine, disposing of trash, and broom sweeping work areas.
  • Observes plant rules and safe working practices.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Moderate computer literacy
