The Energy Engineer\u202fconducts facility site visits, analyzes\u202fthe customer's\u202fcurrent situation,\u202fand produces\u202fplans for\u202fFacility Improvement Measures (FIMs).\u202fThis position also assists\u202fsales and operations in the development, procurement,\u202fand execution of performance contracts.Our\u202fSmart Buildings help to create efficient, safe, responsive, and responsible environments. As an Energy Engineer, you will:

  • Perform and lead existing building commissioning and perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) and opportunities.
  • Participate in pre-sale activities, working closely with Sales to identify and technically qualify customer opportunities for energy efficiency and work with Siemens operations teams and outside vendors as it pertains to developing FIMs.
  • Analyze\u202fblueprints\u202fand perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical,\u202fand control systems to determine facility operational characteristics and apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling,\u202fand heating load-building models using modeling software.
  • Perform industry-standard energy calculations (such as weather-based BIN calculations) and develop design concepts\u202fand schematics\u202fconcerning recommended FIMs, including the\u202fscope of work\u202fdescriptions,\u202fsequences of operations, code deficiency evaluations,\u202fsavings potential, cost estimates,\u202fand data to verify FIMs.
  • Prepare financial models\u202fincluding Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs,\u202fand internal rate of return and work collaboratively with our Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions, as part of Siemens Digitalization Strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Energy Manager or Professional Engineer\u202fcertification\u202f
  • 3+ years of energy industry experience supporting\u202fperformance-based projects or energy services
  • On-the-job or educational experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations\u202f
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Commissioning Professional\u202fcertification\u202f
  • 7+ Years of experience with Energy industry experiences supporting\u202fperformance-based projects or energy services

The pay range for this position is $73,756 - $126,439 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
