    Richmond Post Acute is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and resident-focused Smoking Aide to join our team. This role is responsible for safely supervising resident smoking breaks while ensuring compliance with facility policies and maintaining a safe, respectful environment for all residents.

    Responsibilities

    • Escort residents to and from designated smoking areas according to the facility's smoking schedule.

    • Supervise residents during smoking breaks to ensure safety and compliance with facility policies.

    • Monitor residents for signs of distress or medical concerns and promptly report any changes to nursing staff.

    • Ensure proper use and safe disposal of smoking materials.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free smoking area.

    • Follow all fire safety procedures and infection control guidelines.

    • Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident needs, concerns, or incidents.

    • Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.

    • Assist with light resident support tasks as directed when not supervising smoking breaks.

    • Perform other CNA duties as assigned

    Qualifications
    • VA CNA Certification is required

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    • Previous experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or customer service setting is a plus but not required.

    • Ability to work independently while maintaining close attention to resident safety.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow established schedules.

    • Ability to push wheelchairs and assist residents with mobility as needed.

    • Must successfully complete all required background checks and pre-employment screenings.

    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

    • Ability to push wheelchairs and assist with resident transportation.

    • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
