SMT Line Operator (Experienced)
Location: Buford, GA
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 2:30PM - 11PM (OT as needed)
Pay: $19.00 – $24.00/hour (DOE)
Overview:
TRC Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced SMT Line Operator to support high-speed electronics manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of SMT production lines to ensure efficient output and high-quality PCB assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate SMT production equipment including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens
- Perform line changeovers, feeder setup, and program verification
- Monitor production runs to ensure proper component placement and solder quality
- Troubleshoot machine issues and escalate maintenance concerns as needed
- Inspect boards throughout the process to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met
- Load and verify correct components and reels according to work orders and BOMs
- Maintain accurate production and downtime records
- Work closely with quality and engineering teams to address defects and improve processes
- Follow ESD protocols and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain 5S standards on the line
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of SMT line operation experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with SMT equipment (e.g., Yamaha, Fuji, Juki, or similar machines)
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, BOMs, and assembly drawings
- Strong understanding of SMT processes including solder paste application, component placement, and reflow
- Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment and process issues
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills for machine interface and production tracking
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) machines
- Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610 familiarity a plus)
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume production environments
- Prior experience performing minor machine adjustments or offsets
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shift
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as needed
- Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of small components
