SMT Machine Operator
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay: $24/hour
Assignment Length: 1+ year
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SMT Machine Operator to set up and operate surface mount technology (SMT) equipment used in printed circuit board (PCB) assembly. This role is responsible for machine setup, operation, inspections, inventory management, and basic machine maintenance while following quality and safety standards in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate SMT production equipment, including:
- Solder paste screen printer
- Pick-and-place machines
- Reflow oven
- Automated inspection equipment
- Load feeders, magazines, and components according to work orders.
- Select and verify the correct machine programs for each production run.
- Perform first article and in-process inspections to ensure quality.
- Monitor production, troubleshoot minor issues, and make adjustments as needed.
- Track labor and production using the barcode reporting system.
- Maintain accurate parts inventory and monitor material usage and scrap.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic housekeeping.
- Follow ISO 9001 quality standards and all safety procedures.
- Assist with other production or assembly tasks as needed.
- Work overtime when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of SMT machine setup and operation experience.
- Experience with SMT equipment such as Mycronic, Speedline, or CyberOptics is preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
