SMT Machine Operator (Weekend Shift)

We’re looking for a detail-driven SMT Operator who enjoys hands-on electronics manufacturing work and takes pride in producing high-quality PCB assemblies!




WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE

• Hands-On Production Work: Operate SMT equipment and support the full PCBA assembly process from setup through inspection.

• Technical Growth: Build experience with stencil printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI systems, and production software.

• Team-Oriented Setting: Communicate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to keep work moving accurately and efficiently.




LOCATION: Greater Portland Area

SALARY: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour

SCHEDULE: Full-Time, Friday to Sunday, 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate SMT equipment including stencil printers, solder paste inspection systems, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.

• Perform machine setups, program loading, and line changeovers.

• Load feeders, verify component part numbers, and ensure materials are available for production.

• Inspect products for solder defects, component alignment, polarity, and overall workmanship.

• Monitor equipment performance, identify issues, and perform basic troubleshooting.

• Complete production documentation and maintain accurate traceability records.

• Follow ESD procedures, safety protocols, and IPC-A-610 quality guidelines.

• Communicate production or quality concerns to engineering, quality, or supervision.

• Assist with routine equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance.




WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in electronics manufacturing, SMT assembly, or a similar production environment preferred.

• Basic understanding of PCB assembly processes, surface mount components, and manufacturing documentation.

• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, part labels, and engineering specifications.

• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate manufacturing software.

• Experience using inspection or measurement tools such as microscopes, calipers, or AOI systems preferred.

• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 Class 2 or Class 3 workmanship standards preferred.




PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position works in a manufacturing production environment and requires standing for extended periods of time, good manual dexterity for handling small components, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
