    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    • SynQor seeks a multi-disciplined manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineer to join SynQor's Surface Mount Technology (SMT) process engineering team. Your role will be to develop, evaluate, and improve SMT manufacturing processes and methods to obtain maximum productivity levels and efficiency to drive cost of quality to world-class levels.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support the SMT manufacturing team to resolve equipment and production issues.
    • Instruct, assist, guide, and mentor the SMT production team in daily operations.
    • Work with SMT technicians to troubleshoot SMT manufacturing equipment.
    • Develop and maintain process work instructions.
    • Work with SynQor's Quality and Reliability team to perform quality data collection and analysis to drive continuous process improvement and root cause corrective action.
    • Identify and conduct process and quality improvement initiatives, develop and conduct engineering experimentation.
    • Participate in SynQor's DFM process to recommend engineering design changes.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
    • Familiarity or direct experience with electronics manufacturing including SMT, PCBA assembly, and automated manufacturing.
    • Direct knowledge or experience with SMT manufacturing processes including SMT component placement, solder paste deposition, reflow soldering, thru-hole soldering, and SMT repair is desired.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • The job requires out of the box thinking, strong mechanical aptitude and sound technical skills, exceptional interpersonal skill, detail oriented, constructive process monitoring and auditing skills.
    • Proficiency with Data Analysis, SPC, and quality improvement techniques such as DOE, FMEA, etc.
    • Familiarity with electronics industry quality requirements such as IPC-610, J-STD-001, AS9100, and ISO-9001 is desired.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing projects.
