SMT Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location: Tempe, AZ
Fuze HR is partnering with our client, a growing leader in electronics manufacturing, to find an experienced Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Process Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative manufacturing team where you'll play a key role in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

What You'll Do
- Program, maintain, and optimize SMT equipment to support efficient, high-quality production.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term process improvements.
- Optimize screen printing, placement, reflow, and AOI processes.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and opportunities for increased efficiency and quality.
- Train and mentor engineering and production teams on SMT processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to support new and existing products.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Support process validation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Process Engineering experience within electronics manufacturing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing.
- Experience programming SMT equipment.
- Experience with:
- Screen Printing
- Placement Machines
- Reflow Ovens
- AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)
- Knowledge of IPC-610 standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and process optimization skills.
- Experience developing work instructions and training production teams.
- Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
