We are seeking a skilled SMT Solderer to support the assembly, repair, and rework of complex printed circuit board assemblies. This individual will be responsible for hand soldering surface mount and through-hole electronic components, performing quality inspections, and ensuring products meet IPC and customer quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience working in a high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment and possesses strong micro-soldering skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with IPC workmanship standards.

Job Details
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precision hand soldering of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole components on printed circuit boards.
- Install, remove, and replace electronic components including resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, connectors, and other PCB assemblies.
- Conduct rework and repair of assembled circuit boards using soldering irons, hot air tools, microscopes, and specialized rework equipment.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, bills of material (BOMs), schematics, and engineering changes.
- Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies for compliance with IPC standards and customer specifications.
- Identify and document defects, non-conformances, and workmanship issues.
- Support troubleshooting efforts by assisting with diagnosis and correction of manufacturing defects.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
- Follow ESD, safety, and quality procedures at all times.
- Assist production teams in meeting delivery schedules and production goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in electronics assembly, PCB manufacturing, or SMT production.
- J-STD-001 Class III Solder Certification required
- Demonstrated experience soldering surface mount and through-hole components.
- Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.
- Experience with component rework, touch-up, and repair processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of ESD handling procedures and electronics manufacturing best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- IPC-A-610 Certification.
- Experience working with Class 2 or Class 3 electronic assemblies.
- Prior experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, telecommunications, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing.
- Familiarity with leaded and lead-free soldering processes.
- Experience operating hot-air rework stations, BGA rework equipment, or other specialized soldering tools.
