Overview:
As a Snowmaking Operations Support team member, you will take on the responsibility of ensuring the On-Hill Snowmaking team is moving uphill in a timely manner throughout the Snowmaking season.
Schedule availability: 6:45 AM - 7 PM (day) or 6:45 PM - 7 AM (grave). Weekdays, weekends, holidays. Overtime required. Hours are weather dependent.
Responsibilities:
After an orientation period and on-the-job training, the successful candidate will be expected to:
- Operate fixed grip lifts for team member transport according to the resorts after hours lift operation policy
- Communicate professionally and effectively using UHF radios
- Operate trucks, vans, UTVs, and snowmobiles responsibly and follow the resort vehicle policies
- Ensure all vehicles and lifts used per shift are fueled, cleaned, and ready for the next team to use
- Be able to identify, acquire, and transport snowmaking supplies, including, but not limited to, propane tanks, torches, nozzles, valve boxes, snowmaking gun heads, hosed of varying lengths, and other materials
- Assist the Supervisor team in distributing equipment requests to the on-hill team
- Clear off all chairs that the department utilizes in the shift of ice and snow.
- Assist the team in rolling hoses and keeping all snowmaking and lift spaces in a clean and presentable state
- Responsible for checking out and returning all tools, headlamps, and radios to original locations
- Report any needed repairs to malfunctions to the supervisors
- Receive daily work instruction and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Be willing to help in other departments during peak periods
- Respect all team members and maintain a positive attitude throughout the shift
- Complete other duties assigned by management or supervisor with a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years old
- Familiar with the Sunday River trail network
- Valid driver’s license and no restrictions
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English
- Be able to lift, bend, kneel, and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Basic hand tool knowledge and skills
- Able to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions
- Able to work in a fast-paced, potentially high-pressure environment
- Able to work for extended periods outdoors in an alpine environment
- Flexible with hours and days of work
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
