Essential Job Responsibilities: Monitor communications with parents and staffAssist with stocking and serving snacks and lunchMonitor and oversee building/space capacitiesOversee and maintain guest checked bagsAssist instructors with the physical/emotional needs of each childAssist custodians with janitorial needs as they ariseAssist in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, including handling situations involving childrens bathroom accidentsAt times may be directly responsible for the care and safety of children enrolled in childrens programsAssist with building layout and transitions based on operational scheduleAssist with other areas of Snowsports School operations as neededMaintain clear and consistent communication withSupervisors and Managers when urgent situations ariseRecognizes that service is our product and helping guests have a great Taos experience is our primary jobServe as a public relations representative for Taos, both on and off the jobInitiate contact and greet guests in a friendly, helpful, and respectful mannerLook for ways to better serve the guest, Snowsports, and Taos Ski ValleyMust be able to clearly communicate information to guests and co-workersListens to guest needs and concerns, then communicates the message to managementParticipates with the team essential for the success of the Guest, Instructor, Snowsports School and AreaComplies with Taos employee handbook andSnowsports procedures and policiesReliable attendance on all scheduled workdaysOther duties as assigned Personal Skills: Thoroughly enjoys working with children and familiesAbility to engage children in lesson related activitiesDependable, punctual, reliable, and flexibleAbility to problem solveMaintains good humor and cooperative attitudeActively collaborates, shares responsibilities, and communicates effectively with all team membersStrong personal character and commitment to TaosSki Valley, Inc.s Vision, Purpose, and ValuesProvides a guest experience that exceeds the guests expectationsAbility to gracefully and humbly accept criticism and opportunities for growthAbility to stay positive, focused, and constructive when faced with setbacks, challenges, and while working in an ever-changing environment Qualifications/Knowledge: Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and familiesGenuinely enjoys children and giving them quality attentionAbility to work independently, without close supervisionWilling and able to complete CPR training (training available through company)Possesses excellent verbal communication skills and is comfortable using computers and technology in a fast-paced work environmentAvailable to work during Christmas, PresidentsWeekend, and Spring Break peak periodsAt times may be solely responsible for the care and safety of children enrolled in the Rio Hondo Learning CenterMaintains personal safety as a top priorityIs responsible for information; emails, newsletters, informational websites, bulletin boards, memos and required meetingsAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays (Including Christmas), and evenings Work Environment: Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staffThis position is 85% indoors and 15% outdoors Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Physical Demands of Position Include: Must be capable of lifting and carrying children of all sizes, up to 50 pounds, throughout the course of the dayMust be able to bend and move from standing to squat and kneel positions several times throughout the dayMust be able to walk up and down two flights of stairs several times per shift; must be agile, sure-footed, and cautious on slippery surfacesMust be prepared to accompany children and instructors outside in changing and potentially extreme weather conditions Background Check: Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check.
