Job Description
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience in network engineering, secure infrastructure implementation, or technical network support.
- Proficiency in enterprise firewall administration, routing and switching protocols, and ruleset policy analysis.
- Experience with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and SIEM platforms such as Splunk or QRadar.
- Experience in vulnerability scanning and assessment tools including Nessus or Qualys.
- Experience with network telemetry log analysis across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
- Experience in regulatory cybersecurity standards including NIST, FISMA, and HIPAA, supported by a CCNA or PCNSE.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and remediate automated network security alerts and telemetry anomalies within the operations center.
- Review and evaluate firewall rule modification requests, website access exceptions, and port protocol policies.
- Conduct network security assessments on proposed infrastructure changes across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Monitor and correlate network traffic events using enterprise SIEM platforms and IDS/IPS sensors.
- Execute vulnerability assessments and collaborate with systems engineering teams to prioritize remediation patching.
- Audit enterprise firewall configurations and participate in periodic security policy recertifications.
- Generate technical trend reports, key performance metrics, and countermeasure recommendations for emerging threats.
