Job Description:

The Bloom Transition Program is seeking a dedicated, full-time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students ages 14-22 in developing essential skills for adulthood. This includes a strong focus on independent living, employment readiness, and community integration.

This is a community-based, transition-focused position. Services are provided in a classroom setting and across program locations, vocational training sites, and community-based settings. The role follows the academic school calendar, with expected hours of Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM -2:30 PM.

Qualifications & Responsibilities

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required, or ability to complete certification within the first four months of employment (pay increase provided upon certification)

  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents with developmental disabilities across varying age ranges

  • Implement individualized programming across structured and natural environments, including:

  • Discrete Trial Instruction (DTI)

  • Naturalistic Instruction (NET)

  • Support development of functional life skills, including: vocational/job readiness skills, community safety and participation, social and communication skills, activities of daily living (ADLs)

  • Assist with community-based instruction and vocational training opportunities, including job site support and community outings

  • Collect and record accurate behavioral data; maintain clear, concise session notes in required formats

  • Follow behavior intervention plans to decrease target behaviors and increase adaptive, social, and communication skills

  • Report session information to case manager within 24 hours and attend bi-weekly case review meetings as required

  • Collaborate with educational staff, transition teams, and related service providers to support student goals

  • Communicate professionally with families, students, and service providers; relay information to case manager in a timely manner

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Respond to crisis situations as needed; complete Safety-Care training within one month of hire and additional required trainings

  • Meet physical requirements including sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 20 lbs

  • Adhere to school calendar and program expectations

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM -2:30 PM
  • Follows school-year calendar, including school breaks and holidays

  • Comfortable with active, flexible, and hands-on daily routines
  • Passionate about supporting students in transitioning to independence and adulthood
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills
  • Interested in developing experience in transition-focused ABA services and vocational skill programming
  • Willingness to obtain a V-Endorsement on driver's license to transport students to vocational and community-based opportunities
