    Job Description

    The Brockton Public schools is currently hiring a Social Emotional/Emotionally Impaired Teacher (Grades 2/3) at the Downey School. Crisis management training required.

    This teacher will be responsible for the following:

    Providing a basic core program for emotionally impaired students and overseeing the development of behavioral management strategies.

    Working within general education classrooms to support and enhance inclusive opportunities for students with emotional impairments or other social/emotional/behavioral needs.

    Instructing individuals and groups in special education skills areas.

    Planning curriculum and lessons for Special Education programs and consulting/co-planning with general education teachers for students included in the general education setting.

    Analyzing and recording behavioral and academic skills and progress of students; Communicating this information to students and parents verbally and through written progress reports.

    Establishing instructional and behavior objectives for students through the IEP process. Participate in student''s IEP process and meetings.

    Demonstrating effective classroom management techniques.

    Appropriate Massachusetts DESE Licensure required - Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8)
