We are seeking a creative, organized, and motivated Social Media Assistant to support the execution of our social media presence across multiple platforms in a volunteer capacity. This role is performed within a volunteer capacity. Ideal for someone passionate about digital marketing, content creation, and audience engagement, with a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and develop engaging content across social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
- Assist in planning and maintaining a consistent content calendar
- Coordinate with the Principal Director and team members to ensure cohesive messaging, including captions, hashtags, and platform-specific formatting
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and engage with audiences as needed
- Stay up to date on platform trends, features, and best practices
Content Development:
- Develop and edit photos and videos tailored to each platform
- Adapt content to align with the unique style, tone, and audience of Capital Resource Connections
- Support creative brainstorming and execution of campaigns and social media initiatives
Learning & Growth:
- Work closely with the Principal Director and team members to learn social media strategy and best practices
- Receive ongoing feedback and mentorship to build skills in content creation, branding, and digital marketing
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in social media, digital marketing, or communications
- Basic understanding of major social media platforms and trends
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Creative mindset with attention to detail
- Familiarity with Canva content creation tools is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoy advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community
Preferred Experience:
- Previous internship, coursework, or personal experience managing social media accounts
