Work Schedule Monday through Friday. 7.5-hour workday with .5-hour unpaid lunch. Paid for actual time worked; there are no paid vacation or sick days. During NYPA and Canals holidays, the business is closed, and no work is permitted. NYPA requires a hybrid schedule of a minimum of 3 days on-site, up to including fully on-site depending on department requirements. |
CWPO Engagement Requirements Candidates are REQUIRED to be local to Tri-State area and in W2 tax status as employee of Service Provider. Fully remote positions are prohibited. Hybrid schedules are permissible with a minimum of 3 days on-site depending on assignment and can be fully on-site depending on business needs. Remote work privileges can be revoked at any time. NYPA does not provide laptops. Instead, NYPA provides desktops and dedicated workstations which candidates will remote into from their personal equipment on virtual days. If candidate does not have proper equipment, internet connection, or he/she is deemed to not work effectively from home, the hybrid privilege will be revoked. Vendors must disclose foreign national status and all Visas at the time of candidate submission. Additionally, a Benefits Waiver and Ethics Disclosure will be required by all candidates during onboarding. |

Project Overview NYPA has a contract role for a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Content Creator & Publisher to support digital engagement efforts. This role will focus on developing, curating, and publishing compelling content across social platforms to enhance brand visibility, drive audience engagement, and support organizational initiatives. |
Job Functions & Responsibilities Content Creation: o Develop engaging social media posts, graphics, and short-form videos aligned with NYPA and Canals branding and messaging. o Write clear, concise, and compelling copy tailored for platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter). Publishing & Scheduling: o Manage content calendars and schedule posts using approved tools. o Ensure timely publishing of content for campaigns, events, and announcements. Community Engagement: o Monitor social channels for comments and messages; escalate as needed. o Support engagement strategies to foster positive interactions with audiences. Analytics & Reporting: o Track performance metrics and provide insights to optimize content strategy. Collaboration: o Work closely with NYPA and Canals marketing teams to align content with organizational goals. o Coordinate with internal stakeholders for approvals and compliance. |
Skills Proven experience in social media content creation and publishing. Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Meltwater, Sprout Social, Hootsuite). Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Suite preferred). Understanding of analytics and ability to interpret data for actionable insights. Knowledge of energy, infrastructure, or public sector communications is a plus. Preferred Skills: Creative mindset with ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences. Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive content practices. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. |
