Social Media & Content Lead – Contract – New York, NY – Ref #: 49914 – Industry: Primary/Secondary EducationOur client is a fast‑growing, Ed‑tech company, an AI‑native platform built for K‑12 reading, writing, and SAT/college admissions prep. With partnerships at Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and MIT Technology Review, and advisors from the College Board and Stanford, the platform is positioning itself as the defining education brand of the AI era.This is a net‑new role created as the founder steps back from day‑to‑day content production to focus on product and company growth. The Social Media & Content Lead will own the brand voice and content output across every channel, building the audience from the ground up.The ideal candidate is a great writer first, a strategic thinker second, and fluent in AI tools, not just aware of them. They understand the American college admissions landscape intuitively, think in campaigns, and know how to build a new consumer brand from a standing start.You Will:Own editorial strategy, content calendar, and brand voice across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Substack, YouTube, X, and the owned blogPersonally generate the work: captions, scripts, hooks, threads, newsletters, essays, blog posts, and brand‑voice ad copy, at volumePartner with the founder to develop 15+ campaign concepts and build repeatable content production workflowsOwn AEO and GEO (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI)Develop and manage creator partnerships with teachers, parents, students, and admissions insiders to produce authentic third‑party contentBuild AI‑enabled workflows using Claude and other tools to meaningfully scale output beyond what a traditional social lead could shipDirect a junior social media coordinator who handles scheduling, research, and posting supportWork with video production agency to brief, prep, and scale short‑form video contentTrack what works, cut what doesn't, and report back with the whyYou Have:4+ years in content, social, or brand roles, with clear examples of building audience and brand voiceExceptional writing skills.
