Salary will depend upon candidates experience and qualifications. This is advanced responsible work leading the digital communication for an elected official's office ensuring that residents receive timely, accurate, and engaging information about community initiatives, city services, and neighborhood projects. This classification will be responsible for social media management, audiovisual content creation, and community engagement. An incumbent will be required to capture events, produce content, and manage the office's online presence with professionalism and responsiveness. This position plays a key role in strengthening the connection between the elected official's office and the community through transparent and effective digital communication.
An employee in this classification will be under the general supervision of a higher-level administrator.
Essential Functions
Work includes, but is not limited to:
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of experience managing social media or digital communications for institutions, public figures, government offices, media organizations, or public-facing organizations. Experience must include creating photo and video content, as well as managing public feedback. Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English and Spanish is highly desirable. Experience editing video software and social media analytics is preferred.
SPECIAL NOTE: Salary will depend upon candidates experience and qualifications. An incumbent must be willing to work a flexible schedule, to include nights, holidays, weekends, and declared emergencies in order to meet the demands of the position.
