This position will be a part of the Executive Communications team and work closely with the social media team, which is a part of a larger Integrated Communications Team. The Executive Communications and the Integrated Communications Team are a part of University Relations. The Social Media Intern for the Office of the Provost will help advance the university's overall public relations strategy to always position the U of A in the best light possible.As storytelling continues to expand across academics, research, student life, leadership initiatives and major events, the volume of content opportunities on social media platforms continues to grow. This position, in particular, will manage posts for the Provost on his personal social media channels.Position Description: The Social Media Intern for the Office of the Provost will report to the Assistant Director of Executive Communications and work closely with the Social Media Manager in University Relations. This role assists in brainstorming and ideating social media content for a weekly editorial calendar and manages posts on the U of A Provost's social media channels, including LinkedIn, X, Facebook and Instagram. They will attend events with the Provost to get pictures for posts, repost and share articles that feature university leadership, staff, faculty, students and alumni, and create additional organic content for the Provost's social media accounts.
