Social Media Management Teacher - Social Media for Artists

OVERVIEW
Arts Bonita is looking for a PART-TIME Social Media Management teacher to lead our Social Media for Artists class, designed to serve the large community of adult artists in our area. This specialized course will empower artists to effectively promote their work, build their online presence, and connect with audiences across digital platforms. This role can grow over time as the program expands. Classes are between 1 and 3 hours in length and serve adult students. This is a year-round position as we offer programs in all seasons, including Summer, Winter and Spring sessions, along with our traditional Fall and Spring offerings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive Social Media curricula tailored for artists
- Plan and lead Social Media for Artists classes, workshops, and events
- Teach platform-specific strategies for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, and emerging platforms relevant to artists
- Teach content creation techniques including photography, videography, and visual storytelling for social media
- Teach branding fundamentals and how to develop a cohesive artistic identity online
- Teach audience engagement strategies and community building techniques
- Teach analytics interpretation and how to measure social media success
- Teach scheduling, planning, and content calendar management
- Provide constructive feedback on students' social media strategies and content
- Create a supportive, collaborative learning environment
- Assess and evaluate student progress and social media growth
- Stay updated on social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices for artists
- Maintain necessary equipment and ensure access to relevant tools and platforms
- Collaborate with administration on budget and scheduling
- Coordinate with marketing to promote courses
- Build relationships with the greater artist community
- Lead the program into the future and help grow its recognition and impact
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field (preferred)
- Professional experience managing social media for artists, creative businesses, or arts organizations
- Proven track record of successful social media growth and engagement
- Deep understanding of multiple social media platforms and their specific features
- Experience with content creation tools (Canva, CapCut, scheduling platforms, etc.)
- Prior teaching or workshop facilitation experience with adults (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work well with adult learners of varying tech skill levels
- Enthusiasm for helping artists succeed in the digital space
- Knowledge of art market trends and how artists can leverage social media for sales and opportunities
- Understanding of copyright, attribution, and ethical social media practices for artists
- Organizational and time management skills
- Adaptability and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for supporting and uplifting the artistic community

The Visual Arts Center, 26100 Old 41 Road, is comprised of multiple fine art galleries and fully equipped art studios, a gift store, and beautiful sculpture gardens. A variety of classes are offered at this center, including painting, drawing, pottery, and sculpture.
The Performing Arts Center, 10150 Bonita Beach Road, is home to the 400-seat Hinman Auditorium and the 200-seat Moe Auditorium & Film Center. At this diverse center, patrons can enjoy an ongoing array of live music, theatre, comedy, film, lectures, and youth & adult classes in art, music, theatre, and dance.
