Overview

The Social Media Program Manager is a key member of the Brand & Marketing Communications team and will be responsible for supporting Paychex's organic social media strategy. This person will help amplify the Paychex brand, motivate and inspire target audiences, and execute initiatives to meet Paychex's strategic growth objectives. This role will focus on organic social media campaign planning, reporting, and publishing with a range of responsibilities aimed at building brand awareness, fostering our community engagement, and driving organic growth through our social media channels. This role requires a truly collaborative networker who can inspire creativity, have analytical prowess, and technical knowledge to effectively manage an organic social content calendar that drives engagement on our platforms. They're a team player, creative problem solver, and a multi-tasker that can prioritize and hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ideate and plan organic social media marketing campaigns that support our brand and organic social media strategy to promote key initiatives aligned with Paychex business goals and values
  • Ability to create and edit video, experience with Canva and experience with AI tools for creating content
  • Manage social media initiatives from conception to publication and reporting to ensure successful execution
  • Maintain enterprise-wide social media calendar, ensuring posts are timely and aligned with marketing campaigns and initiatives, and public relations/corporate communications calendars
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams to inform and align with our social media calendar - amplifying company thought leadership, community impact, and brand storytelling through coordinated messaging, shared planning, and compelling campaigns that build relationships, drive audience action, and increase reach, engagement, and brand affinity.
  • Support social listening efforts to help identify trends, flag issues, and mitigate reputational risks
  • Foster and engage with the online community; Partner with customer service and public relations teams in relation to negative comments, messages, and mentions on social media platforms
  • Support the company's employee advocacy platform, including scheduling content, monitoring user engagement, and reporting to help grow participation, shares, and overall advocacy impact
  • Assist brand and marketing communications team in educating and nurturing brand advocates across the org, particularly users within the employee advocacy platform
  • Tracks, monitors and evaluates social media activities and accomplishments to measure success; provides and implements recommendations as appropriate for continuous improvement
  • Is a student of the industry, always provide recommendations for optimizing social media profiles and posts on platforms such as LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Conduct audience and competitive research to evaluate the gaps/opportunities, understand the target demographic, and tailor content to their preferences
  • Supports broader marketing programs and initiatives as needed
  • Potential for travel to marketing and/or corporate events to help with onsite social media coverage

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in in communications, marketing, or related field - Required
  • 2 years of experience in social media marketing.
  • Experience with social media campaign planning.
