Job Description

Rosa E. PR & Communications is looking for a creative, organized and social-first Social Media + Content Specialist to support content development and day-to-day social media execution across a growing roster of nonprofit, arts and culture, small business and community-focused clients.

This is a part-time contractor role designed for someone who understands what makes content work on social media, is comfortable jumping between different client voices and audiences, and can take direction and turn it into polished, engaging content.

You'll work directly with founder Rosa Pruneda and her team of videographers and photographers to help bring client strategies and monthly content plans to life, with an emphasis on strong copy, creative execution and keeping content moving.

What You'll Do

  • Develop first drafts of monthly social media content calendars across assigned client accounts, including content concepts, captions, hooks and recommended formats.
  • Create and adapt social-first content, including Canva graphics, Reels, Stories, short-form video and other platform-specific content.
  • Identify timely opportunities, trends, cultural moments and emerging content styles that can be thoughtfully activated across client accounts.
  • Review social performance and use insights from top-performing content to inform future calendars, formats and creative recommendations.
  • Attend select Houston-area events independently or alongside Rosa to capture social-first photo and video content, with the ability to quickly turn around Stories, Reels and event recaps.
  • Schedule and publish approved content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok and support ongoing community management.
  • Repurpose existing photos, videos, interviews, press coverage, podcasts and event footage into fresh social content.
  • Stay organized across multiple accounts, proactively managing deadlines, content needs, assets and upcoming opportunities.

This role will focus primarily on social media execution and content development. Client strategy, account leadership, client-facing meetings and final strategic direction will remain with Rosa, although the Social Media + Content Specialist may occasionally participate in meetings or content-planning conversations as appropriate.

Who I'm Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience in social media, communications, marketing or content creation.
  • Strong social-first writing and storytelling skills, with an eye for what makes content engaging across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Comfortable working in Canva and editing short-form video; experience with CapCut, Edits or similar tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable independently capturing quality social content using a smartphone and working quickly in live event environments.
  • Resourceful, reliable and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to different client voices.
  • Houston-based with reliable transportation and an interest in the city's nonprofit, arts and culture, small business and multicultural communities.

What You’ll Gain

This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone interested in building a career in social media, PR, digital marketing or entrepreneurship. You'll work directly with Rosa, who brings experience across leading PR and communications agencies, in-house organizations and now her own independent communications consultancy.

You'll gain behind-the-scenes exposure to how client strategies come together, how content supports larger communications goals and what it takes to grow a communications business, while building experience across Houston's nonprofit, arts and culture, small business and multicultural communities.

Part-Time Role Details

This is an independent contractor position starting October 1, 2026, at $30/hour, averaging approximately 15–20 hours per month to start. Hours may vary based on client needs, with opportunities for additional hours as the role and Rosa E. PR & Communications continue to grow.

Work will primarily be remote, with occasional in-person events and content coverage throughout the Greater Houston area. Some client events may take place during evenings or weekends and will be scheduled in advance whenever possible.
