Social Media Senior Specialist 
Marketing & Creative Advertising

JCPenney

 

The Sr. Specialist, Social Media will promote JCPenney’s brands, products and services via organic social media channel management. They will be an expert in executing social-first strategy and performing the tactical and oversight functions related to planning, coordinating, reviewing, and approving all social related marketing for the given area of assignment. Position reports to the Sr. Manager of Social Media.  

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

•    Implement JCPenney’s social media marketing strategy with clear objectives, goals and KPI’s which may vary by

      campaign.
•    Work closely with the social team, internal partners, and agency partners to manage the planning and maintenance of

      the organic social media calendar. 
•    Capture and edit video and photography from brand shoots, live events, etc. This may include real-time content

      capture and publishing. 
•    Collaborate and coordinate with agency partners: schedule status meetings, take detailed notes in all agency and

     partner meetings to ensure appropriate follow-up and clear post-meeting action items. 
•    Work closely with the influencer team to ensure content is incorporated into the JCPenney social calendar. 
•    Document, analyze, and provide meaningful insights on campaign performance
•    Work with Media Team to better incorporate organic content into our customer funnel. Note: this role will not own

      paid media budgets 
•    Collaborate with other teams to develop approval/feedback processes and maintain voice (ie JCP Beauty,

      LinkedIn/HR, Portrait) in alignment with priorities and goals.
•    Serve as a champion of the brand, ensuring our content they create stays aligned with JCPenney’s brand purpose and

     values. 
•    Advise and manage test and learn opportunities with an eye on constant innovation for relevance in the space.

 

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
•    2-3 years of experience in social media marketing, influencer marketing, or marketing communications
•    Agency background and/or retail experience preferred
•    Excellent understanding of social platforms, content performance, audiences, paid tactics and digital trend and                  technology
•    Experience with filming, editing, and graphics for social content
•    Comfortable navigating strategic, creative and analytical responsibilities
•    Comprehends both direct and brand marketing principles and strategies
•    Entrepreneurial, innovative, self-starter, energetic and agile
•    Forward-thinker with the ability to work independently, thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity or        uncertainty
•    Strong multi-task capabilities with ability to juggle multiple projects and requests with a high attention to detail
•    Familiarity with the following applications is a plus: Editing Tools (CapCut, Canva, etc.), Opal, Sprout Social, Adobe            Analytics, Google Analytics
