
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree. One year of experience in communications, marketing and/or public relations to include experience with social media sites is required. Additional experience in communications, marketing and/or public relations to include experience with social media sites may substitute for the required college education on a year for year basis.
Recruitment Notes
This is a professional-level position within the Miami-Dade Public Library System (Library) that supports the Librarys marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts. The position plays a key role in increasing awareness of Library services, resources and programs and the significance of the Library in our community. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the Librarys social media presence and accounts across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, LinkedIn and other channels, and coordinating across departmental divisions to identify library services, programs, events and initiatives to be promoted through social media, under the direction of an administrative superior. The role also supports the promotion of countywide initiatives and services.
In this position, the incumbent applies excellent writing, judgment, customer service and time management skills to develop engaging and accessible content; utilizes a social media management platform to schedule, publish, monitor and evaluate content performance; responds to customer service questions; maintains brand consistency; and identifies social media trends. The incumbent also contributes to broader marketing and communications efforts through photography, email marketing, website content development, and other marketing initiatives.
