The Crisis Operations Workflow Coordinator (WFC) provides technical expertise as a senior advisor to co-workers for VCL day-to-day operations. The WFC provides the first line of consultation to Crisis Responders and Social Services Assistants.

The major duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Monitors communication from across contact platforms (phone, chat, text).
  • Recommends or informs management if changes to existing policies/procedures, knowledge base, standard work, training, or tracking mechanisms are needed.
  • Monitors unplanned staff absences and adjusts coverage as needed.
  • Provides first line consultation to Responders/SSAs who encounter one-of-a kind or unfamiliar situations.
  • Relays information on unplanned changes and reports to supervisor/manager.
  • Provides technical expertise on wide range of issues and situations encountered in day-to-day operations.
  • Initiates and carries out contingency and emergency procedures when needed.
  • Utilizes a variety of specialized software applications to collect and record data/information.
  • Troubleshoots new and existing procedures and application.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

Work Schedule: Varied work schedule to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays to provide 24/7 call center coverage. Tour will be determined after final selections and will be based on seniority. Tour is subject to change based on program needs. Selectees will be expected to work all shifts.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/10/2026.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Individual Occupational Requirement:

In order to meet the basic requirement of the Supervisory Social Science Program Specialist (Workflow Coordinator), 0101 series, you must possess one of the following:

  1. Degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED)

OR

  1. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED)

  1. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Examples of SF-50s for TIG verification include your last within-grade increase or promotion to highest grade held. Promotion shows when you started the grade level and a within-grade increase verifies you were at that grade level for at least one year. Failure to provide your most recent SF-50 dated 1/11/2026 or later and other SF-50s to verify TIG will result in you being disqualified. We cannot verify time-in-grade based only on the grade and step you are currently on. Award 50s do not provide sufficient information and will not be accepted for the purpose of verifying time-in-grade.

  • If you are a current or former Federal employee applying for a higher grade and your SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you meet the one year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements.
