    JOB SUMMARY

    As a Social Security Attorney at Disability Law Group, you’ll manage a high-volume caseload and represent clients in disability claims and hearings. You’ll collaborate closely with a dedicated Case Manager, Records Managers, and our growing tech-supported infrastructure, including AI tools for brief generation and hearing prep.

    This position offers a great deal of independence, flexibility for personal styles, and responsibility over case files. You will be assigned a Case Manager to assist with a lot of the grunt work for your cases as well as a team to assist with intake, file ordering, etc. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, BCBS benefits and PTO.


    RESONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES

    • Represent clients before the SSA at all levels: Initial Application, Reconsideration, ALJ Hearings, and Appeals Council.
    • Draft legal briefs, memoranda, and Appeals Council letters.
    • Collaborate with Case Managers to prepare ERE submissions and ensure timely record acquisition.
    • Maintain consistent client communication with empathy and professionalism.
    • Monitor filing deadlines, hearing schedules, and appeals using Prevail and ERE systems.
    • Participate in weekly department meetings and attorney strategy sessions.
    • Work closely with supervising attorney on complex matters and receive structured mentorship.
    • Option to participate in Federal USDC work over time (not required initially).


    KEY SKILLS

    • JD from an accredited law school
    • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
    • Prior SSA representation experience preferred but not required
    • Strong writing, communication, and time management skills
    • Commitment to disability rights and client-centered advocacy
    • Strong analytical, technical, written, communication, and interpersonal skills


    Location: Remote. Potential occasional office visits if in the Troy area.


    Compensation & Benefits:

    Base Salary: $90,000-$125,000 + Performance-Based Bonuses
