Overview:

Schedule: Monday-Friday and Saturdays as the department needs; Shift will vary due to clinic hours.

 

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:  The Social Services Casework is under the supervision of Program Director, provides specific substance use disorder treatment (SUD) services to patients and their families. Coordinates case management services. Demonstrates commitment to the principles of family-centered care.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 

Required:

• 1+ years of SUD experience in a pediatric medical setting or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

Preferred:

• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
• 2+ years of experience working with youth and delivering substance use counseling as a board approved certified substance use counselor.
• Understanding of risk reduction practices and identity development among youth and young adults
• Group facilitation skills.
• Public speaking and presentation skills.
• Must pass Live Scan screening.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Certification as a SUD counselor by one of the three certifying boards in CA (CAADE, CCAPP, or CADTP).
• American Heart Association BLS certification.

Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
