Woodbridge School District is accepting applications for a Social Studies teacher at WMS. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible teaching position.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Middle School Social Studies Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes students' understanding of history, geography, civics, and economics. The teacher fosters critical thinking, civic responsibility, and cultural awareness through interactive lessons and inquiry-based learning experiences. The position requires the ability to build strong relationships with students, maintain a positive classroom environment, and collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and administrators to support student growth and achievement. Due to the needs of the school, candidates with special education certification are preferred and should have the knowledge and skills to effectively support diverse learners through inclusive instructional practices and collaboration with special education staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
This is a 10-month position based on a 188-day annual contract. Employees are expected to work 7.5 hours per day, consistent with the established school and district schedules. Responsibilities may include duties beyond instructional time, such as meetings, professional development, and school-related events. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, fulfill all assigned responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and the district.
