The Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District is seeking a Social Studies Teacher. This position provides classroom instruction that helps students build knowledge in history, government, economics, geography, and citizenship. Responsibilities Teach social studies courses aligned to Ohio learning standards Plan lessons, activities, projects, and assessments that support student learning Use clear instruction to help students understand history, government, economics, geography, and current civic topics Support literacy, critical thinking, research, discussion, and writing skills Monitor student progress, attendance, and classroom performance Maintain accurate records, grades, and required reports Create a safe, respectful, and organized classroom environment Use technology and instructional tools to support learning Adapt instruction for students with different learning needs and skill levels Work with staff, administration, families, and community partners to support student success Support employability skills, responsible citizenship, and positive workplace behavior Complete all required training assigned by the district in a timely manner Follow district policies, administrative regulations, and Board directives Support the mission and educational goals of LCJVSD Contribute to district marketing and communications efforts, including social media or content sharing, in accordance with established procedures
