Description
Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking applicants for a full time High School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year. The ideal candidate would be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who has a bachelor’s degree in education and a Teaching Certificate.
Essential Job Functions
Provide daily Social Studies instruction for students in grades 9-12
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church is preferred
Use best practices to provide effective instruction and positive, consistent classroom management
Self-motivated and able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues in a professional and positive manner
Function as a cooperative, productive team member with a Christ-like attitude
Support and uphold the philosophy and mission of the Catholic Church and the Owensboro Catholic School System
Must pass a criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted
Full time employees are eligible to receive a 50% tuition discount and 35% after school discount.
