Description
The 24hr Response area in Child Protection is hiring a Social Work Unit Supervisor to provide supervisor duties related to intake, screening, and rapid response. The position will supervise the overall processing and assignment of child protection reports and provide support to the Rapid Response Team (RRT) staff during responses of immediate safety concerns for children. This position will be responsible for staff supervision, program oversight, legal and policy guidance, and system coordination with schools, hospitals, law enforcement, and the County Attorneys Office to ensure effective service delivery.
Location and hours:
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.

In this position, you will:
Need to have:
One of the following:
Masters degree or higher in social work or closely related field (or licensed as a graduate social worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work) and three years or more of experience as a social worker.
Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and 27 quarter credits or more of graduate work in areas such as social work methods, human growth and behavior, principles of social welfare, and four years or more of supervised experience as a social worker.
Six years or more of experience as a Senior/Psychiatric/Child Protection Social Worker at Hennepin County.
Nice to have:
Candidates with fluency in another language(s) in addition to English are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates who pass a language assessment may qualify for additional bilingual pay and duties.
