What you will do:

The LMSW/LMHC is responsible for providing services to victims/survivors of sexual, physical and domestic violence, stalking, other crimes and to secondary victims of crimes. This position specifically focuses on providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups who have survived traumatic events. Additionally, this position assists with responding to crisis situations that come through our 24-Hour Hotline. This may include accompaniments to the ED and acting as a supportive advocate in legal matters and in securing needed services. This role will have a specific focus on partnering with the Troy City School district to provide on-site direct services, in addition to survivors within the community

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supportive services, including but not limited to crisis intervention, counseling/therapy, advocacy, compensation assistance, criminal justice and civil legal assistance, and support groups to victims/survivors of crime in collaboration with local schools.
  • Travel to offer services to students within local schools.
  • Assist with staffing the programs 24-hour hotline (minimum of 4, 12-hour shifts per month).
  • Collaboration with Law Enforcement agencies, as needed.
  • Perform outreach and build relationships with school staff.
  • Collaboration with the New York State Office of Victim Services staff, as necessary.

What You Will Need:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required.
  • Experience working with children and adolescent is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system and Family Court process is preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills, public speaking, and proficiency are required.
  • Reliable transportation is required to meet with clients at school locations, to attend any required meetings, and to provide education/outreach programs.
  • New York State Certified Sexual Assault Counselor (or be willing to apply for certification with appropriate training provided by our department).

Pay Range: $30.00 - $43.08

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
