The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the social emotional and academic success of our students. This role involves providing comprehensive social work services that address barriers to learning and promote a positive school environment.ResponsibilitiesConduct assessments to identify students social emotional and behavioral needs.Develop and implement intervention plans to support students well-being and academic success.Provide individual and group counseling to students.Collaborate with teachers administrators and parents to create supportive learning environments.Advocate for students needs and connect them with community resources.Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school social work.QualificationsValid Connecticut State Department of Education CTDOE certification in School Social Work.Masters degree in Social Work MSW or a related field.Strong understanding of child development and effective social work practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for students.Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a diverse and inclusive educational setting.Familiarity with the NASW Standards for School Social Work Services.Knowledge of crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies.Join us in our mission to empower students to meet high standards make productive choices and contribute to a diverse global society.
