    Main Purpose of Job

    The main purpose of this position is to provide direct care to a variety of children and adolescents and their families, through clinical service such as individual, group and family therapy, to facilitate attainment of improved mental health and more effective social and family functioning. This position acts as a primary therapist and case manager within a multidisciplinary team.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:Â Â Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.

    Experience: None.

    DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    The desired candidate should possess the following:

    • Experience working with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved youth
    • Experience using Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) techniques

    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

    1. Candidates must be licensed as a Graduate Social Worker (on or by June 30, 2018), Master Social Worker(on or after July 1, 2018) or Certified Social Worker by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have a license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Maryland Department of Health Testing Unit.

    2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator''s license valid in the State of Maryland.
